The school has participated in this technology challenge with some success from its beginnings in Ireland in 2005.

F1 in Schools is a competition, open to all secondary schools, to design and manufacture compressed air-powered racing cars. Student teams will compete against each other in a National Championship to determine the best-engineered and fastest car in Ireland. The national winners go on to represent Ireland at the World Championships.

F1 in Schools is operated in Ireland by the Irish Computer Society (ICS).

Junior 2008-09. 2nd place in the national finals.

Senior 2009-2010. Qualified for national finals. Won fastest R-type car.
