Modesta and her husband are living in a two-roomed mud-hut.in a remote area of Kilimanjaro,surrounded by banana trees.She has nine children,including a disabled boy. When we visited her all the family had to eat was boiled bananas. They have no beds to sleep on.

The charity decided to help and fund-raising began in december 2007.A cd was recorded of Christmas carols . Past pupils of Presentation Secondary sang beautifully on the cd.and enough money was raised to begin the house.

The 3-bedroomed house is now complete and the family have running water but fund-raising is ongoing.It is hoped to buy a cow for the family so they can sell the milk to the villagers and be provided with a regular income.
