Transition year Transition year is a multidisciplinary programme that prepares our students for life. They learn new skills and gain in confidence to meet the challanges they will encounter in future life. With the help of teacher/student reviews and evaluation, we have changed and adapted this programme to meet the needs of our pupils. The coure is divided into three main areas:
The Transition year programme builds on the solid base of the Junior Cert and provides a good base for the Leaving Cert. There is continunity in subjects such as Gaeilge, English, Maths and Languages while students also get an opportunity to assess their abilities and strenghts in relation to a wide range of other subjects. This gives the students greater insights and should be beneficial when it comes to making a choice of subjects for the Leaving Cert. The programme is varied, enriching, challenging and relevant. It is designed to provide students with an opportunity to develop their own individual talents and strengths.
